Sony PRS – 600 Touch vs. 300 Pocket
The portable eBook reader is fast becoming a popular option among book readers. This portable eBook reader has enough memory to hold 350 books and holds a charge for up to two weeks. Many older versions of eBook readers would only last a couple of hours.
The PRS-600 Reader Touch Edition has the advantage of a touch screen and a 6 inch screen. It is easy to turn pages, adjust font size, and search for books all by the touch of a finger. This portable eBook reader allows you to take notes, highlight and even look up a word in its easy to use dictionary. It holds up to 350 books but unlike the PRS-300, also has the capability to use an optional memory stick.
Both the PRS-300 and the PRS-600 support Adobe PDF documents, Microsoft Word, BBeB Book and other text file formats. They also support EPUB/ACS4 and connection with Adobe Digital Editions. Mac and PC compatible a user can even play back unsecured MP3 and AAC audio files.
The legibility of the reading screen is excellent. Easy to view even in bright sunlight, both models are perfect for taking to the beach and on vacation. Lightweight, easy to carry, they can go everywhere with you. For the extra money, the PRS-600 Reader Touch has some great additions. For those people who like to make notes on what they read, underline and look up definitions, this is the eBook reader for you. The easy finger touch capability makes it perfect for the student as well.
